VINX – voice & percussion

"Vinx is the gift you give to someone that you really care about." STEVIE WONDER

International A Cappella Soul & World Music - live!

No one who has seen and heard Vinx live ever forgets the experience!
Vinx is alone on stage. His vocal stylings create a unique atmosphere that astounds audiences again and again, giving them goose pimples of delight. What’s more, Vinx is a world-renowned percussionist and djembe virtuoso who accentuates his performances by accompanying himself on various instruments. His show builds to a climax that involves the use of a “loop machine,” sequencing software that turns the lone performer into an entire orchestra. Before the eyes of his amazed audience, Vinx successively records vocal bass lines, grooves and harmonies, weaving them into a filigreed background for his powerful solo vocals.

His stage presence and personal warmth make his shows a unique and unforgettable experience. His rhythmic roots lie in the music of Africa, Brazil, Cuba and the Caribbean Islands, and his personality and experience are palpable.

A one-man a cappella show that sounds and feels like an entire band.

With his velvet timbre and impressive compositions that include elements of American love songs and world music, he succeeded in attracting stars like Herbie Hancock, Sheryl Crowe, Branford Marsalis, Mother's Finest, Taj Mahal and Bill Summers to appear on his debut album, which was produced by none other than Sting!

Vinx then joined Sting for a world tour, where he captured the hearts of a large audience.
He subsequently collaborated with Stevie Wonder, Cassandra Wilson, Peter Gabriel, Sinead O'Connor, Elton John, Zucchero, Third World, Manhattan Transfer, Toni Childs, Yothu Yindi, Zap Mama and other top names on the international music scene, giving concert tours throughout Europe and the world with various prominent musicians.

Vinx is a cultural attaché with the US State Department and artistic director of the Ghana Nu Jazz Festival – where he meets up with old friends such as Stevie Wonder and Quincy Jones.

In his current show, “Pure Singer’s Soul Food,” Vinx serves up a five-course musical meal of a cappella singing, live percussion, technically enhanced multi-vocal acrobatics, songs and improvisation.
